Duration: This workshop is Five, 3 hour sessions meeting online every third Saturday  
Date: January 17, February 7th, February 28th, March 21st, April 11th 2026
Time: 10:30am - 1:30pm
Cost: $155 + HST

Class Outline:

This five session workshop series will walk you through all the basics of patchwork quilting from fabric selection, measuring and marking your fabrics, using a rotary cutter, seam allowances, pressing and more!

Together, we will complete a different block within the first 4 sessions. During our last session, we will review sashing options and assemble our quilt tops. Bonus content how to baste and assemble quilt layers, explore machine & hand quilting, and binding demonstration will be sent directly to your inbox at the end of our time together

Participants will have the option to make one or more of each block for homework. Finish with either 4 blocks or more. Blocks can be sewn into a wall hanging, baby quilt, or lap quilt top.

Pre-requisite: High Beginner / Intermediate. Must be comfortable threading and setting up sewing machine and have high beginner sewing machine skills.

Space is limited. Even though we are working online, class sizes will be kept small to ensure clear communication and personal support

✂️ Class materials / Supplies:                                                                                                     Fabric for your blocks
Quality Cotton Sewing Machine Thread 40w or 50w
Measuring tape
Grid Ruler 
Marking tool (pencil, fabric chalk)
Fabric Scissors 
Rotary Cutter (optional)
Adequate surface area for measuring, marking, cutting fabric
Sewing Machine in good working order
Iron and ironing mat or board

NOTE:
*Please include your email address at checkout. A detailed supply list including fabric suggestions and quantity will be sent to all participants within 5 business days from time of registration. We meet in Zoom. Your class link will be sent one day before our start date.

Our Class Policies:
Nesting Ground's classes are small to help ensure participants receive enough personalized attention to learn and complete a project by the end of the session and foster a sense of community

Participants must be a minimum of 16 yrs and must have completed our Learn to Sew Class or have equivalent experience for workshops that require the use of a sewing machine.

*Materials and supplies are not included in the class fee unless otherwise stated

Payments & Cancellations:                                                                                     
Register online. Space is limited. To reserve your spot, all class fees must be paid for in full at time of registration. Please note, we do not issue refunds for missed classes. Cancellations or changes must be made 72 hours prior to your first class and we will happily issue a store credit towards another class. Cancellations made less than 72 hours of the class start date forfeit their fee entirely
