French Stitch Box Style Cushion: Home Decor

Duration: This workshop is two, 3 hour sessions
Date: Friday February 21st, 28th 6pm - 9pm
Cost: $95 + HST 

Pre-requisite: Advanced Beginner. Must be comfortable threading and setting up sewing machine and confident basic sewing machine skills.

Add a touch of French Country to your home decor. In this 2 session workshop you will plan, measure, cut, & assemble your box cushion and finish it off with a beautiful hand-stitched rolled edge to get a classic French mattress look. If you are interested in sewing for home and tackling your own decor projects, this is the perfect workshop to get you started. 

Make a 4" x 20" x 20" sample size or bring your measurements to make a cushion cover specific to your decor (note: cushions must be square or rectangular to ensure everyone is receiving the same instruction)

We will review foam and fill options in the first session

Note: Please bring your own portable machine in good working order if you prefer to work with it, otherwise we have one for you! 

✂️ Class materials / Supplies: 

Class fee includes workshop instruction and use of marking, measuring and cutting tools needed to complete your project.                                                                               

✅ Additional items required to complete your box cushion:

Fabric for your Box Cushion Cover 
Quality Cotton or Polyester Sewing Machine Thread 40w or 50w
Filling for your cushion such as Premium Polyester Fibre Fill
Heavy hand-stitching thread such as Valdani Pearl Cotton 8wt

Purchases made for your class will receive a 10% discount (before HST)

Nesting Ground's classes are small and intimate to help ensure participants receive enough personalized attention to learn and complete a project by the end of the session.

Participants must be a minimum of 16 yrs and must have completed our Learn to Sew Class or have equivalent experience for workshops that require the use of a sewing machine.

*Materials and supplies are not included in the class fee unless otherwise stated

Payments & Cancellations:                                                                                               Register online or in person. Space is limited. To reserve your spot, all class fees must be paid for in full at time of registration. Please note, we do not issue refunds for missed classes. Cancellations or changes must be made 48 hours prior to your first class and we will happily issue a store credit towards another class. Cancellations made less than 48 hours of the class start date forfeit their fee entirely

Masks are no longer mandatory, however, the health & safety of everyone who visits Nesting Ground continues to be a priority. We ask that you continue to self screen and sanitize your hands before entering the shop. Hand sanitizer & sanitary wipes provided at the door.
